WHERE ARE THE FERRY DOCKS? Kelleys Island Ferry Boat Line is located at 510 West Main Street,
(Route 163), in Marblehead.

HOW LONG IS THE FERRY RIDE? The Ferry ride is 20 ‑ 25 minutes long.
The Jet Express takes 20 minutes from Sandusky.

HOW OFTEN DOES THE FERRY RUN? The ferry runs every half hour, seven days per week, in season.
Hours, in season, are generally 6 a.m. ‑ 11 p.m. weekdays, 6 a.m.
‑ 12 midnight on Friday and Saturday. Be sure to always check the
schedule before traveling.

ISLAND?
The entire island
measures more than four square miles and is the largest freshwater
American island in Lake Erie.

DO I NEED TO BRING MY CAR OVER?
The ferry does allow visitors to bring their vehicles to Kelleys
Island. A car is convenient if you plan to do a lot of travel on
the island itself. However, there are bicycle rentals readily
available throughout the island and downtown area. Golf cart
rentals are readily available at
the Caddy Shack, Kelleys
Cove and The Casino.

WHAT IS THERE TO DO ON KELLEYS ISLAND?
History
– Kelleys Island offers a wide variety of activities. One may
explore the historical aspect by visiting the Glacial Groove
State Memorial, Inscription Rock State Memorial, or the Kelleys
Island Historical Museum & Gift Shop.
Outdoors
- For those who enjoy outdoor activity, we offer numerous walking
trails and a newly erected boardwalk leading to the North Pond
Nature Preserve. Also, birding is one of the favorite activities
in spring and fall. Other outdoor activities include fishing,
boating, jet skiing, swimming, biking, camping, snorkeling and
scuba diving.
Dining and
Shopping
- The Island has several restaurants and bars. For shoppers, there
are numerous gift shops, which offer a wide variety of unique
items.
Entertainment -
There is Karoke at the
Caddy Shack Friday and Saturday nights and live bands
every weekend at The Casino and Bag the Moon.
Wine Tasting
- The Kelleys Island Wine Co. on Woodford offers a relaxing
atmosphere as well as wine tasting, winery tours, food, children’s
play area and horseshoes.
Miniature Golf and
Game Arcade
- For kids, the island provides an excellent play area at the
Village Pavilion. Located at Caddy Shack Square are a miniature
golf course, game arcade, and ice cream.
Butterfly Kingdom
- The Sweet Valley Trading Post & Butterfly Kingdom offers a
unique gift shop as well as a Butterfly Room. Tour this
fascinating Kingdom to see numerous butterflies in all their
stages.

WHERE ARE THE PUBLIC BOAT LAUNCHES? The Kelleys Island State Park, located at the North‑West end of
the island, offers a free double boat launching ramp and trailer
parking.

IS THERE OVERNIGHT FREE DOCKING? The Kelleys Island State Park offers no docking but one may tie
off or anchor down in the bay. All other dockage and marinas will
charge for daily as well as overnight stays.

WHERE IS FISHING ALLOWED? Fishing is allowed at the Kelleys Island State Park. It offers a
stone pier for fishing.

WHERE DO I BUY BAIT? Bait and tackle are available at several locations on the island.
Unc'I Dik's, located across from the State Park, Craft's Lakeview
Lane, located on W. Lakeshore Drive, and Kelleys Cove located
downtown.

CAN I OBTAIN A FISHING LICENSE ON THE ISLAND? Kelleys Cove, located downtown on Lakeshore Drive and Seaway
Marina (Kelleys Island Ferry Dock) have fishing licenses. |
WHERE IS PUBLIC SWIMMING PERMITTED? The Kelleys Island State Park offers a beautiful sandy beach along
the North Bay. |
DOES KELLEYS ISLAND HAVE A TOUR TRAM? 1 ST Place Rentals offers a tour tram for groups. This is
reservation only. There is no tour tram that runs on a regular
basis for daily island tours. |
WHERE ARE THE HIKING TRAILS? The State Park offers several hiking trails including the North
Shore Loop and the East Quarry Trail. Maps of the trails can be
obtained at the Kelleys Island State Park information booth or at
the Kelleys Island Chamber of Commerce, located on Division
Street. The Boardwalk, on Ward Rd., is also an excellent choice,
winding through meadow and woodlands, to the edge of the North
Pond Preserve. |
WHERE ARE THE PUBLIC RESTROOMS? The Public Restrooms are located on Addison Road, next to the
Municipal Building. |
IS THERE CAMPING ON THE ISLAND? The Kelleys Island State Park offers 129 shaded campsites, (no
reservations). Group, rent‑a‑camp sites, yurts and pet sites are
also available. There are some electric hookups to individual
sites. Several main shower houses are available throughout the
park. |

CAN I BRING MY OWN FIREWOOD?
Absolutely not!
It is against Ohio State law to
transport firewood to the island because of the threat
of the
Emerald Ash Borer.
There will be a container available
at the boat line dock for disposal of any wood being
brought unknowingly and cars may be searched with
fines as

There are
only two houses that allow pets; the Dr.s House on
Division and the Little House on Melody Lane. For

No, there is no readily available transportation.
If flying into Kelleys Island, please make transportation

between within the Kelleys Island State Park. Also, on Division

ON THE ISLAND?
If you wish to rent a village location you need to fill
out a reservation form at the Village Office. They can

of the two churches on the island to make wedding
arrangements; St. Micheal's Catholic Church

HOW DO I GET TO CEDAR POINT?
The best way to Cedar Point is from the Jet Express in
Sandusky. You can arrange for a cab to shuttle you from
the Sandusky Jet Dock to Cedar Point. They are extremely
close to Cedar Point and the best part you do not have
to deal with the traffic!

HOW DO I GET TO PUT-IN-BAY?
The best way to the Bay is by the Jet Express. They
offer an inter-island rate the will take you back and
forth between Kelleys and Put-in-Bay.
